See where (and how) airplanes are built on this tour of the Boeing factory near Seattle. Tour the massive Boeing assembly plant, the world’s largest building by volume, and see signature Boeing planes in production. Explore the interactive exhibits and displays in the 28,000-square-foot Aviation Center Gallery and visit the educational Future of Flight Aviation Center museum.
Depart Seattle today en route to Mt. Rainier National Park, one of the outstanding scenic wonders of the Northwest. Cross the Columbia River for a stop at Mt. St. Helens that will reveal the devastation created by the 1980 eruption of this active volcano. Then continue to arrive in Portland in the evening.
Depart Portland pass by The Columbia River Gorge which is a canyon of the Columbia River in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Photo stop at Multnomah Falls, formed by the cataclysmic Missoula Floods beginning 15,000 years ago and fed mainly by underground springs, Multnomah Falls drops 635 feet in two major tiers down basalt cliffs. Afterwards proceed to visit MT Hood also known as Wy'east, is an active stratovolcano in the Cascade Range and is a member of the Cascade Volcanic Arc.

Umpqua Hot Springs, also known as Toketee Hot Springs, is located in Umpqua National Forest, near Roseburg, Oregon. It's accessible via a short, but steep, hike from the trailhead parking area off Forest Service Road 3401. The hot springs feature several cascading pools, including one with a wooden shelter, and are known for being some of the warmest in the state.
Pass former Russian fishing settlements as you continue your drive South today. The giant redwoods are protected in state and national parks that collectively are a World Heritage site.
Follow the coastline of California north to the village of Mendocino. The town of Mendocino is a Historic Preservation District on the National Register of Historic Places with a superb coastal setting and is the perfect place to linger before continuing South to San Francisco. There will be time to explore the city this evening.
Enjoy a wonderful day touring the city. See places like Union Square, Golden Gate Bridge, and Fisherman’s Wharf, where you can take a short boat trip to tour infamous Alcatraz Island.
Today’s drive takes you down the California coast to Monterey. Stroll along Fisherman’s Wharf and Cannery Row before continuing along the stunning landscape of the 17-Mile Drive en route to the village of Carmel.
